Six Steps to a New Image

Read this from The Hindu in an article “A new you!” by Geeta Padmanaban. Found it useful, so just sharing with you people.

  1. Place the ‘needs’ and ’feelings’ of others before your own! You will then ‘feel good’ and so will others.
  2. Feeling negative or depressed? Act as if…you feel good. Speak upbeat words in an excited tone, smile, use broad gestures. Emotion follows action.
  3. Be a fantastic listener! Align your body language to convey that you are truly listening! This builds rapport!
  4. Build rapport with everyone! A genuine smile, appreciative words, a ‘thank you’ and people remember you.
  5. Make complimentary remarks about people you meet, every time.
  6. Present a picture of good health! Never discuss your occasional indifferent health with anyone.
